Day 4, Tuesday, 01/09

We agreed to meet at ground level outside of dormitory at 9:15am to solve some issue. Yet I woke up at 6:30am and have nothing much to do for the next 2 hours+. At 9am, I tried to wake up Gerald and he chose to sleep in...안녕(annyeong/bye bye).

While Jinyi and Chloe solve their issue, the rest of us waited outside the global centre. While we wait, Jiaqi went in the office because she want to sit down. The office lady suddenly say something and we all thought we shouldn't come in but actually she offered us to sit down. She asked where are we from, let us do a short diary and told us to look for her if we need help. She's a Korean with basic Mandarin skills. While sitting down, we spot something interesting...
Can you spot NYP?

After clearing the issue, we went to 7-11 to get some food before going for our trial lessons. As an international student, we can attend the lesson to see whether it suit us or not. However, it is just for this week before we must apply our modules.

Our first lesson of the day is Event Management. The professor(Dr. Changsup Shim) did an overview of the module and  explain the lesson plan. About 70-80% was delivered using Korean. The fun part was when Jinyi asked him whether the module will be delivered in English, only then he realized we are international student and not Korean. From the beginning of the lesson, he thought all of us IS Korean as he said we look like Korean. We were all laughing when he said that and thought that the misunderstand could be cause be us keep nodding when he look at us. hahaha.

Outside classroom @ Level 9
Next, we went to attend Human Resource Management(HRM). This is yet another interesting module. Basically, it gives an understanding of Human Resource and its key functions. The lesson is 75 mins and there is 2 slot for the day. Luckily, we have 15 mins break in between. First part of the lesson covers overview of HRM. The second part of the lesson was an introduction of ourselves such as "Who are you?", "What do you expect from HRM?". It is unbelievable to have the privilege to be in a truly global class where we have students from Korean(obviously!), Malaysia, Russia and of course us from Singapore.Probably the fun part of this lesson today was that he want us to have an English name as it will be a lot easier for him to pronounce.

So therefore, we are proud to present you our newly created name:
  • Jiaqi AKA Hayley
  • Jiamin AKA Jasmine
  • Jinyi AKA Alexandra

*AKA (also known as)

During the lesson, each of us was handed this card. It seems like a card with a stamp, well it is..but it is also how the professor track our participation in class! If we participate in class, we get 1-3 stamps and we need 30 stamps to get full marks for class participation.

Finally, we went for our last trial lesson of the day, Business Communication. You might think it is same as what you learn NYP right? We think so too! Unfortunately, that's not the case. It covers more of business spectrum that includes leadership, socialism among others.

Alright, alright. Enough about studies.

Straight after lesson, we went to a nearby barbecue store to have our barbecue pork belly.

It taste marvelous than it actually look. On top of that, it only cost 4,500 won (~S$5.40) per person.

After a delicious meal, we went to Gangnam for some shopping. Woohoo!

It was rather crowded, especially in the evening. I would describe this place like a mixture of Raffles Place and Orchard. Office and lots of shopping stores.

To end the day, how about some instant noddle?

Stay tuned for Day 5..

See ya!! XOXO

Love,
Alexandra
